Suspects Wanted in Threats Offense
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying suspects who threatened an employee in a store in Southeast.
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, at approximately 3:55 p.m., two suspects entered a convenience store in the 4500 block of Benning Road, Southeast. One of the suspects walked into the store with his scooter and was asked to leave by an employee. The suspects threatened the employee and showed the employee what he believed to be a gun in their waistband. The suspects fled the scene before responding officers arrived. The victim was not injured.
One of the suspects was captured by nearby surveillance cameras and can be seen in this video and the photo below.

Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
